Pottermania

July 21st 2007.....A magical and long awaited day for me.Ever since i read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in 2005,i was waiting with excitement for the ultimate book in the series.Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows is different from the prior books, there were so many rumors surrounding it.What was going to be Harry's fate,is Snape evil or good,is Dumbeldore still alive? These were some of the questions which were discussed to death on Potter related forums.Everybody had their own theories including me and i couldnt wait to lay my hands on the book.I was determined to buy it as soon as it released lest someone spoil the suspense by telling me the end.I watched on television as it released in England among frenzied crowds .People waited in long lines to grab their copy.
I went to Walmart about 5 hrs prior to the release to see if it was going to be this crazy here too.I was handed a bracelet which would give me an edge and told to come at the stroke of midnight .I went back home and could barely wait for the clock to strike 12.Finally at 11:45 I pushed my reluctant husband out of the house. There was a long line for the people with bracelets too.My husband has no clue about Harry Potter,so he blissfully picked up an earlier book and went and stood in line.Thankfully a sales lady saw him ,and laughingly handed him the right one.He reached home by 12 :45 with the book.So in conclusion,i was successful in getting the book as soon as it released.
My next couple of days are going to be spent in reading the much anticipated book. But there is a sadness in me too as it will be the final in the series. There will be no more stories about the boy wizard and his friends. We have all grown up with Harry potter,so its sad to bid farewell.Adieu Harry,it was fun knowing you.

My friends are forever!!!

Friends do things for one another. They understand. They go a million miles out of their way. They hold your hand. They bring you smiles, when a smile is exactly what you needed. They listen, and they hear what is said in the spaces between the words. They care. And they let you know you're in their prayers.
Friends always know the perfect thing to do.They can make your whole day just by saying something that no one else could have said. Sometimes you feel like the two of you share a secret language that others can't tune into.
A friend can guide you, inspire you, comfort you, or light up your life with laughter. A friend understands your moods and nurtures your needs. A friend lovingly knows just what you're after.

When your feelings come from deep inside and they need to be spoken to someone you don't have to hide from, you share them... with a friend. When good news comes, a friend is the first one you turn to. When feelings overflow and tears need to fall, friends help you through it all.
Friends bring sunlight into your life. They warm your life with their presence, whether they are far away or close by your side. A friend is a gift that brings happiness, and a treasure that money can't buy.

Translation:
For the removal of all obstacles, I meditate on Lord Vighneshwara who is clad in white, is all pervading, is white like the moon, sports four arms and is always of serene aspect.
He is the most popular God in India. .The affable, pot bellied, elephant-headed friend who turns up at every corner, wards off the evil eye. He is the presider over every inauguration. The Lord of and destroyer of obstacles, Ganesha also goes by the names of Vighneshvara or Vighnaharta,. Invoke Him whenever a Siddhi or success in undertakings is needed. Call Him for grant of Buddhi, or clarity of intelligence. Propitiate Him by breaking before is starting any venture. The wedding card has his photograph and he adorns most car dash boards. And that's just a small domain of his kingdom. For, if you are thinking of attaining proficiency in education, knowledge and wisdom, literature, or the fine arts, turn to Him.So who is this multifaceted God who has entered the warp and weave of the Indian consciousness- through his playfulness, friendliness and the powers to grant wishes? He is Lord Ganesha- the Siddhivinayak or granter of accomplishments.
